Mona AbuBaker
My name is Mona, and I have over 20 years of experience as a teacher for children. Throughout my career, I've nurtured a deep passion for handmade products and a desire to continuously learn and create. I enjoy transforming various materials into unique items, such as making chairs from tires or vases from plastic and glass. My creativity thrives on using recycled materials, allowing me to craft innovative products while promoting sustainability. I consider myself a maker because I embrace the joy of creating and sharing my ideas with others
My Journey
I first discovered my passion for creating recycled products about nine years ago after watching inspiring videos on YouTube. This led me to enroll in several courses focused on handmade materials. My initial creations included a handmade bag, small boxes, and a carpet made from plastic bags.
I believe I've been a maker since childhood; I used to enjoy crochet and stitching in school classes. This early interest in crafting laid the foundation for my current work and love for transforming materials into something new and useful
My project is called Upcycled by Mona. I create handmade products using upcycled and recycled materials. My target audience includes anyone who enjoys crafting and DIY projects. What makes my project unique is the emphasis on sustainability and environmental friendliness, as I utilize a diverse range of materials to create innovative and eco-conscious items
